Saturday June 11th was cloudy and overcast with threat of rain but thankfully it held off.

We had an excellent day of boating with a BBQ lunch at Starport Marina served by Era 67. It was a short leg back into Orillia and some dockside socializing before we all went to spruce up for dinner.

Dinner was a delicious Prime Rib Buffet at 16 Front Street followed by our awards and auctions.

Winning the awards at this first run of the season were: Best Hand went to Rob Hamilton who also received the Hard Luck Award, 2nd Place went to Brent Vernon, 3rd Place went to Roger Eagleson, Best of Show went to Jay & Carrie Cooke and team

With many items on the Silent Auction Table as well as a Live Auction with our resident MC Mike Holmes the evening was a terrific success. The funds raised will go to help one of our own as he faces some major challenges ahead with his battle with throat cancer. Thank you to all who contributed to make this auction a success with $15,500 raiser for the cause.
